Pornography and forms of sexual immorality

Galatians. 5:16–26
Special reference to vs 19–21
What are desires of sinful nature? – Ask them

• Gratifying the flesh e.g. having sex before time, kissing, smooching, touching
  yourselves in wrong places and pornography.
   What is pornography? Pros and cons of Pornography? Is it worth engaging
  in it? Why?
• Pornography is the portrayal of printed or visual material containing the
  explicit description or display of sexual organs or activity intended to
  stimulate sexual excitement e.g. literatures, which could be in form of books
  you read, dirty books, films you watch, hardcore porn girls revealing their
  private parts in pictures or magazines. When you watch these, you get aroused
  and begin to play with yourself until you reach orgasm. Now the danger of
  this is that, doing it over time, gets you addicted to pornography — meaning
  your life begins to depend on it and this has disadvantages or advantages
  which are: –

Disadvantages of pornography

1. Ability not to get attracted to the opposite sex or get aroused by them at all
   even in marriage. (can’t get it up syndrome).
2. Young men who get addicted to pornography neglect their school work
   because they begin to think/daydream about it and how to watch it.
   “Distraction” becomes a thing.
3. Spend huge amount of money they don’t have on data to watch or sites to
   visit.
4. Become isolated from others and eventually fall into depression because you
   want to be alone and enjoy the few minutes of gratification but just after that,
   you are left with lingering mood or sadness.
5. Porn makes you lazy because you spend hours in front of laptop or television
   and by so doing, you will waste productive time.
6. It leads to erectile dysfunction, low sperm count; when you marry you cannot
   satisfy your partner and it reduces your chances of having children due to low
   sperm count.
7. It increases your chances of getting health risks, If you get addicted, you will
   not want to leave your screen; this causes eye damage, lack of moving around
   (exercise) and bad meals ordered mostly.

Question: Is it worth engaging in pornography with all that you know now?
Answer: NO. Why? Tell me the consequences I have taught them.

Forms of Sexual Immorality

Leviticus 18:6 – describes forms of sexual immorality which the Lord has
forbidden.

• Sexual relations with close relatives are forbidden:

1. Parents or step-parents.
2. Siblings or half-siblings.
3. Nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles or cousins.
4. In-laws.
5. A woman and her child or relative.
6. Homosexuality.
7. Bestiality.
8. Adultery, fornication, harlotry (Aristo).
9. Sleeping with your neighbors.

Why it is not good to get engaged in it: –

1. God will be far from you and you will lose your covering (no protection). You
   become an endangered specie, vulnerable to all things.
2. You are prone to diseases and sickness such as – HIV, Hepatitis B, gonorrhea,
   syphilis and all forms of infections, which could lead to infertility in the future
   when you marry.
3. Curse upon you, when a child and parent get involved in sexual activity, it
   brings God’s wrath.
4. Unwanted pregnancy at a time you did not plan for, which can lead to the
   temptation of abortion and death.
5. Sexual immorality can lead to addiction, drugs, alcohol and destruction.

• Ask them what they think.
